Myth: DeluxeCD.exe uses CDDB databases
Several press articles tell us that deluxecd.exe is a CDDB application.
E.g. take rollingstone.com makes cddb exclusive music information pipeline. Most of that is public relation stuff and only partly true.
In fact, Deluxe CD Player does not use CDDB databases. It uses DeluxeCD servers. The file transfer protocols and data formats are too different. Obviously, the servers themselves linked to cddb databases (or had a local copy of it) to bring the results after a shift of time. If a DeluxeCD call didn't find a "new" album - surprise - after some hours the album info was present because it was copied from CDDB to the deluxe server.
As users told me, their DeluxeCD uploads went neither to the (origrinal) DeluxeCD servers nor to CDDB.
